Privacy Policy
How we protect data and apply privacy by design
Privacy as a design principle
At Huursterk, privacy is not an afterthought — it's a design principle. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data, and the boundaries we maintain in relation to employers.
Input helps the employee, not the employer.
The conversation stays between employee and expert.
Only aggregated patterns from a safe group size.
Who we are
Huursterk is a preventive, confidential provision for employers and employees, located at Bandoengstraat 43, 9715 NA Groningen. We help employees understand their housing position and give employers insight into housing stress at organisational level — without any view into individual private circumstances.
What data we collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email, phone number and details of your housing situation through the Housing Security Check. From employers we collect organisation and contact details. We also collect technical data (IP addresses, browser information) for security and analytics.
How we use data
- To deliver the Housing Security Check and generate a personal housing security profile for the employee
- To arrange confidential check-ins and preventive guidance when an employee opts in
- To produce aggregated group insight for the employer — never individual case details
- To improve our service and user experience
Privacy by design vis-à-vis the employer
The employer never sees individual participation data, answers, documents or conversation content. Employers receive only aggregated group insight at team or cohort level. This ensures employees can be honest about their housing situation without fear of consequences.
Minimum threshold for group insight
Employers only ever receive aggregated group insight, and only when a group includes at least 20 participants. Below that threshold no substantive reporting is delivered, to prevent re-identification.
Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described. Housing Security Check data is kept for the duration of the employment relationship with our client plus 2 years. Deletion can be requested at any time.
